A follower of the great God of Order, Paladine, Sven has sworn to uphold the rights of all. Born of a Knight and a Night Elf and ostracized since birth, Sven has lead a solitary existence of meditation and training. He has come out of his wanderings determined to guard the innocent against evil. Armed with his blessed cleaving blade Justice, and harnessing the power to strike down his enemies with the might of God’s Strength, Sven’s wrath toward the unjust is a sight to behold.

Explanations to skill build:
1. Storm Bolt is your bread and butter killing skill the whole game, I hope no one suggests I max out Storm Bolt any later.2. Great Cleave is gotten at mid game due to the fact that mid-game consists of mostly: a) farming and b) team clashes. Great Cleave will be helpful in both these parts3. Toughness Aura is gotten at late game because late game is all about pushing to the opponents’ base, and an extra 5 armor is always helpful. You don’t get this early game because being the melee hero you are, you should NOT be overpushing to the opponents’ tower.4. Stats gotten early game for more mana for storm bolt and more hp.
1. Ring of Regeneration2. Chicken3. 2 Lesser Clarity Potions, 1 Flask of Sapphire Water4. 2 Bracers5. Boots of Speed6. Ogre Axe + Broadsword = Black King Bar7. Upgrade Boots to Power Treads8. Mask of Death > Mask of Madness9. Broadsword + Blades of Attack = Crystalis10. Messerschmidt’s Reaver + Vitality Booster = Heart of Tarrasque11. Crystalis + Demon Edge = Buriza Do Kyanon
Final Items:
Justifications to item build A.1. You need an RoR and a chicken that will bring you pots and other items for early game lane-staying power, I hope no one disagrees with me on this.2. 2 Bracers will give you a nice 228 HP boost, and an additional 12 damage. The agility and mana bonuses, while minimal, are also a plus.3. Boots of Speed so that you can run faster, get back to the base quicker, chase easier, etc, later upgraded to Treads4. A Black King Bar will be bought because you WILL be the target of lots of disables, and you can’t kill well when you’re getting stunned every few seconds. The 10 seconds is enough for 1 or even 2 kills. The stat bonuses it gives are also beneficial to Sven.5. Mask of Madness gives you a huge boost in attack speed, and coupled with your high damage output, you should be lifestealing more than you are losing life. The 20% damage taken will be negligible because you aren’t damaged by spells while Avatared anyway, and Sven’s high hp is enough to tank most normal attacks.6. A Buriza Do Kyanon, with God’s Strength, you’ll be able to dish out 1000 damage crits regularly, also remember that crits = more life stolen and Cleave attacks benefit from critical attacks. It synergizes well with most of Sven’s abilities.7. A Heart of Tarrasque (or two) will ensure that you don’t die. It gives you a HUGE hp boost, a + 35 to Strength, and an 11hp/second regen.
1. Chicken, Lots of Potions2. 2 Circlets of Nobility3. Ring of Health + Void Stone = Perseverance4. Upgrade Circlets into 2 Bracers5. Boots of Speed –> Boots of Travel6. Perseverance + Mythril Hammer + Claymore = Battlefury7. Mask of Death –> Mask of Madness8. Heart of Tarrasque9. Aegis of the Immortal
If you want you may sell the bracers and go for Divine Rapier
Final Items:
Justifications for Item Build B
1. Battlefury for the 75% Cleave, mainly, and the hefty regen and damage bonus. A 75% cleave will wipe out an entire creep wave in around 5 seconds, with Sven2. Boots of Travel for the nice movespeed bonus, also because of the Teleport ability, which lets you push with ease.3. Mask of Madness coupled with God’s Strength will let you take down towers with relative ease, if you sense you’re going to get ganked, just teleport away.4. Heart of Tarrasque so you’ll never leave your lane, gives you a nice regen, hp, and strength bonus5. Aegis of the Immortal gives you a nice armor bonus, and spell reduction. The 3 charges of reincarnation means 3 extra lives for pushing
Using Storm Bolt
-Use it like you would any stun, to hold down the enemy and get a few whacks in-Use it to interrupt channeling spells like Maiden or Sand King’s ultimate-It dishes out decent damage early game, so feel free to harass with it-Use it as an escape tool, this should be intuitive
Using God’s Strength
-Use it in open combat, God’s Strength’s cooldown is short enough for you to use it every time you engage an opponent-Use it to turn the tables, when you’re at orange health and you see a low hp agility hero whacking you, turn around and use God’s Strength, you might get the kill, you don’t know.-Use it AFTER activating Avatar. Avatar dispels the GS buff
Both of my builds have the same early game goal. Farm and survive, getting a few kills if the opponents are stupid enough to let you do so. After leaving the base with your pots and circlets, go and take a side lane. (If you are using the pusher build, you should take one closest to the secret shop) Hold the alt button and only do last hits, you don’t want to be overpushing early game.
Take a look at your opponent, if s/he is a ranged nuker, it would be wise to just stay and leech experience, last hitting when you are sure that you won’t get nuked to death. Take a look at his/her item build, if s/he went boots first, you’re in for an easy time, if they’re melee, you should go all-out aggressive on him/her(but not too aggressive to the point of being stupid)
Once you see an opening for a kill you should go for it (Like if the enemy’s getting hit by a tower or if s/he’s surrounded by creeps) and stun the enemy, give him/her a few good whacks, and back off. If the enemy is at half health and is not retreating, make sure you have 280 mana (enough for 2 storm bolts) and attack, stun, whack whack chase, stun whack whack. If the enemy isn’t some freaky tanker like centaur or leviathan s/he should fall.
Skill Build A:
If you have a lot of enemy disablers, it would be smart to rush a Black King Bar. Your goal here in mid game is still to farm, while occasionally defending towers and helping out in ganks. Sven’s presence in a lane accompanied with a disabler or two is usually enough for enemies to back off and stop pushing, unless they want to die. Here you should be more defensive than offensive, using Avatar defensively and conservatively. Do note that if you see that you can kill a hero while you’re on Avatar, activate God’s Strength and stun the hero.
Remember, you will not be as effective as you were early game, heroes won’t die from your usual Storm Bolt, whack, chase, Bolt combo, so farming should be your priority
Skill Build B:
You should actively help out in ganks and pushes once you get your battlefury (around level 13) Activate God’s Strength at the towers, but also be wary of the enemies’ position on the map. It would be wise to carry numerous Scrolls of Town Portals while pushing.
With Battlefury farming will be much easier, on your way to a lane you can stop by the neutral creep camps and kill a few of them, you’ll regenerate the HP in time. You’ll probably get Mask of Madness 5 minutes after completing your Battlefury, and your pushing power is strengthened. Activate both frenzy and God’s Strength to destroy a tower as fast as possible, then teleport to another lane.
Skill Build A:
With your Heart of Tarrasque you should be next to unkillable, actively look for prey and turn on frenzy, God’s Strength, and kill him/her in around 3 seconds. Your main goal here in late game is to kill heroes, then push while they’re dead. Sven can demolish a tower very quickly, and you should take advantage of this fact. If backdoor is allowed in the game feel free to do so.

Skill Build B:
Much like Skill Build A, except that your role now is more of the tanker, don’t be afraid to take tower hits, don’t be afraid to die, you have Aegis, do everything you can to win the game for your team!
Good Allies
Chain disablers will make sure your opponent won’t get away from you while you pound them to death.
With your cleave, Enigma’s black hole should be enough to land you a double or even triple kill.
You two are an unstoppable early game combo. You love her Swap, her Stun, her Command Aura, her Terror, everything.
Amplify Damage + God’s Strength = GG. Getting away from you two won’t be an easy chore, either.
In short, anyone with disables or stuns makes for a good ally for Sven
Bad Enemies
The WORST enemy for Sven, there’s just no counter for her. Even Black King Bar will not defend you from purge. When you use God’s Strength, BAM it’s dispelled. Her Mana Shield makes her extremely tough to kill as well.
Early game he’s no problem for you. Late game he has a bash, evasion, a blink (with slow) and CHRONOSPHERE. Chronosphere goes through BKB and it gives him 6 seconds to kill you. More than enough, with his high damage output late game.
Much like Void, early game she’s no problem. Late game she has evasion and her sick x4 Criticals. Only 4 of these in one battle and you’re down.
Very hard to take down because of his sick hp. Doom also renders you vulnerable and useless. Always have Avatar ready when facing him.

Food to Sven
Low hp casters are food to you, and killing them quickly is what you do best. Turn on avatar and whack away.
